Emergency Management Review
Supporting your community's safety with strong, practical, realistic preparedness.
Service Description

For the Public Sector, Brett assesses your current emergency management plans to ensure they are clear, comprehensive, and ready to guide your municipality through its next emergency.
With direct experience acting as Planning Section Chief and Deputy Director of Emergency Management during the 2023 wildfires in Northern Alberta, and again as Planning Section Chief during a major wastewater main line break in Cochrane, AB in 2024, Brett brings practical, on-the-ground insight to every review. This expertise is supported by the completion of his formal Director of Emergency Management Certification in 2024.
His process includes in-house interviews with staff across all levels of your emergency management structure, along with comparative reviews of similar municipalities. Brett takes into account real-life challenges, such as staffing shortages, resource limitations, and capacity issues, to deliver a personalized, practical review with clear options for improvement tailored to your local context and current capacity.
This service is delivered by Brett Hawken and can be customized to your municipality’s unique needs.
